Dalandan o dalanghita for Manilenios and some part of Tagalog provinces, King orange or Mandarin orange in English, Naranjita in Spain (parang pinabading lang ah!), Ch'en P'i in some Chinese & SINTURIS (sa Taal, Lemery, Agoncillo, San Nicholas, Sta. Teresita, Alitagtag, San Luis, Muzon, Balayan, Calaca, Lian, Calatagan) or SINTONIS (sa parteng Malvar, Sto Tomas, Tanuan, Lipa, Balete, Padre Garcia) for BATANGUENO's.
The Sinturis or Dalandan are widely cultivated in the Philippines because of its adaptivity to local conditions. It has a bright, deep green skin and possesses a natural shine when freshly harvest.
This fruit which is originally came from China is rich best source of Vitamin C. And did you know that an infusion of the fresh juice is used as a cleanser or stimulant of wound surfaces. In Malayan peoples a lotion of the boiled leaves is used hot on painful places and swelling. Seed preparation tastes bitter with pain relieving effect.
